Each year, at this time, we come together as a family to celebrate a great yearly tradition that we call Thanksgiving. For many this is a special time of the year. Family and friends coming together to cook, eat, and watch football.

However for some members of the family this time can be a very strained and stressful time. Hurt feelings, past history, and even personalities can bring tension in the family. We wish and hope for Norman Rockefeller's Thanksgiving portrait family in the Saturday Evening Post, but we wind up with the Griswold holiday family. Holidays can be stressful. However, what I have always been amazed at is when tragedy strikes the family, no matter what, pulls together.

Family can sometimes be stressful, and sometimes we just don't see eye to eye, but when we are in trouble and in need family is always there. Maybe it is true, "blood is thicker than water."

So let's take this Thanksgiving season and give God praise for the family. They might not be perfect but they are our family and in the end that is enough.
